RP-8200 Rugged Portable Workstation
THE FLEXIBLE SOLUTION FOR ULTRA-RUGGED COMPUTING
DRS Tactical Systems’ RP-8200 workstations offer unparalleled levels of performance, functionality and ruggedisation within a single compact enclosure. Designed to accept highly configurable compact PCI architecture, the units provide defence forces with the means to run sophisticated applications such as mission planning, command support and fire control. The use of compact PCI as the main system backplane allows the support of different processor architectures, including Intel™ and UltraSPARC™, and is accompanied by a versatile mix of options for expansion, drives and interfaces in a single portable unit.
Variants of the RP-8200 are fully developed and in production following its selection to support a number of defence programmes. The RP-8200 based on an IBM™ PC, optimised to support Windows NT™, will be qualified to NES 1004 for operation on typed air stations and surface ships. The RP-8200S, featuring an UltraSPARC IIi™ processor, will qualified to DEF STAN 03-55, for operation as a field deployable support aid. |
